Methane hydrate phase equilibrium in the presence of salt (NaCl, KCl, or CaCl2) + ethylene glycol or salt (NaCl, KCl, or CaCl2) + methanol aqueous solution: Experimental determination of dissociation condition

Abstract : In this communication, we report dissociation conditions of methane hydrates in the presence of salt (NaCl, KCl, or CaCl2) + ethylene glycol or salt (NaCl, KCl, or CaCl2) + methanol aqueous solutions at differ- ent temperatures. The equilibrium data were generated using an isochoric pressure-search method. These data are compared with some selected experimental data from the literature on dissociation con- ditions of methane hydrates in the presence of pure water to show the inhibition effects of the above mentioned aqueous solutions.
