Experimental study on CO2 absorption by ammonia

Chakib Bouallou

Résumé

The absorption of CO2 using aqueous solutions of ammonia was studied at 278-303 K and NH3 concentration range of 1040-2800) mole/cu m (2-5 wt %). A thermoregulated constant interfacial area Lewis-type cell was operated by recording the pressure drop during batch absorption. The kinetic results were compared with those obtained for the reaction CO2/MEA. The activation energy found for the reaction between CO2 and NH3 was 28.1 kJ/mole.
