Level set and anisotropic adaptive meshing with applications in material microstructure dynamics
Résumé
The objective of this presentation is to show some of the latest achievement in numerical simulation method with applications in modelling of complex microstructural evolutions. Examples include the deformation and recrystallization of polycrystalline aggregates or the growth of dendrites occurring during the solidification of metallic alloys. In such modelling an important feature is the calculation of changing interfaces between domains or phases having different mechanical behaviour. We will show through several examples that the Level Set framework enhanced by adaptive anisotropic remeshing is a powerful and flexible tool to deal with such complex moving interface problems
