Résumé

This paper describes a predictive model of the passenger-compartment thermal environment based on the assembly of a zonal model and the results of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) approach. The use of zonal methods to simulate forced convection heat exchange implies to represent and analyze the air velocity field in the passenger compartment. Zonal discretization comes from prediction and visualization of re-circulated zones, and from pressure and velocity fields by CFD computation on a simplified passenger compartment. The numerical predictions fit well with the experimental measurements. The evolution of the thermal environment obtained for steady state and transient simulations are correctly predicted.
