Clarification of the volumetric properties of the (tetrahydrofuran + water) systems [J. Chem. Thermodyn. 41 (2009) 1382-1386]: Author's statement
Résumé
Although reliable and consistent volumetric data can be derived from density measurements, the greatest experimental difficulty and largest measurement errors often occur in the very dilute regions of concentration. Such data are of great interest in separation processes where a high degree of purity is required. In this communication, the densities of the (tetrahydrofuran + water) systems have been carefully investigated in dilute regions. A vibrating tube densimeter has been used to perform the measurements. A discussion is made on the reliability of the generated experimental data and the questions raised in the literature.
