Moving mesh for complex geometries

Abstract : The three-dimensional simulation of physical phenomena involving moving bodies undergoing large displacements represents a real challenge. These simulations, combine the issues related to instability, meshing and Fluid-Structure Interaction, are generally difficult to perform and very costly in terms of computation time. We present in this research report an overview on moving mesh methods used in the literature. Several mesh deformation methods are proposed, local remeshing operations are explained and finally different approaches that uses PDE are detailed.
