Stochastic modelling of dendritic grain structures
Résumé
Dendritic grain structures were studied using stochastic modelling. Crystallographic orientation of grains and spatial distribution of the nuclei were analyzed using random procedures. A dendrite tip growth kinetics model was employed for simulations of grain envelope development. The kinetic model was also used as a microsegregation model for the coupling with heat flow calculations. Cellular Automation-Finite Element models were proposed for studying macrostructures formed in casting.
