In-situ precipitation in the Al-Mn-Fe-Si alloy during homogeneisation treatment

Abstract : The precipitation kinetics of a commercial as cast AA 3003 alloy has been studied during the heating to the homogenization temperature thanks to three different in-situ methods, i.e. differential electrical resistivity, X-ray diffraction and TEM. Precipitation is pointed out and the overall kinetics are obtained by electrical resistivity measurement. The comparison of the different results allowed to determine the precipitation sequences and their dependency on temperature and heating rate.
