Numerical simulation of linear friction welding of aeronautical alloys

Abstract : Numerical simulation of linear friction welding (LFW) of Titanium alloys is considered with the Forge® software, using a JMatPro constitutive model with the aim of supporting process design for the welding of dissimilar materials, such as Titanium and Inconel. Relying on forces and temperature experimental measurements, friction and other unknown parameters of the model have to be calibrated.
