Enhancement of the ETSAP E-Tech Database with water consumption and withdrawal data

Résumé

Energy and water resource systems are fundamentally interrelated. We cannot manage these two resources in isolation as the availability of each affects the availability of the others. The declining availability of water will have an increasing impact on the energy sector. For analysing future energy technology deployment and energy policies the water-energy-nexus represents an essential topic to deal with, and modelling tools need to prepare for this. The ETSAP energy technology repository (E-TechDS) provides a comprehensive portfolio of energy technology with a plenty of techno-economic parameters to characterize technologies. However, information on the technologies water consumption is missing so far. This analyse addresses this shortage and proposes a project for the enhancement of the E-TechsDS by different cooling technologies and their main characteristics for electricity generation technologies.
