Géostatistique de gisements de cuivre chiliens - 35 années de recherche appliquée

Abstract : The book covers the main mining issues where geostatistics, a discipline founded in the 1960s to study regionalised variables measured at a limited number of points in space, is expected to play a role, from geological interpretation and modelling to exploitation and grade control, evaluation of in situ resources and recoverable resources, long-term mine planning, geotechnics, geometallurgy and sampling. The presentation, with more than 150 illustrations, is systematically oriented towards a practical exposure of the problems and proposed solutions and is illustrated through case studies in Chilean copper porphyry deposits. It is the result of the work published by the authors, researchers from Mines ParisTech and the University of Chile, made in collaboration with the Chilean company Codelco since the late 1990s and early 2000s. The range of problems addressed and their practical presentation make this book unique and usable by a very wide audience - students, researchers, geologists, engineers, geotechnicians and metallurgists.
