Major intellectual deficiency is a mental handicap where the cognitive sphere is found considerably faded. Social cognitions are failing and other cognitive attacks are present, like difficulties on the level of the attention and memory. The music can play a fundamental role in the link to build with these people. With this public, the music therapy seems an excellent mediator to develop and support the relation and the communication with others, to maintain a social link. More than one simple objective of socialization, it is a whole change which takes place on the levels of the cognitive capacities of the person. This improvement of the cognitive capacities is possible thanks to a cerebral plasticity and an impact of the music on the brain. The music therapy plays a role in the cognitive remediation (or cognitive stimulation) near people reached of a major intellectual deficiency, in order to bring to them some days richer in relation and autonomy.

Le présent article retrace en partie un travail de musicothérapie mis en place au sein d’une unité de pédopsychiatrie périnatale de Seine-Saint-Denis accueillant des dyades (et triades) présentant des dysfonctionnements de la relation au cours des premiers mois de la vie de l’enfant, dont l’objectif premier est d’accompagner les jeunes patients et leurs mamans dans leur rencontre mutuelle. À travers le prisme du concept de tiercéïté, ce travail clinique repose en majeure partie sur des théories psychanalytiques incluant certains apports de la psychologie développementale ainsi qu’une passerelle faite vers les neurosciences. Il tient compte avant tout de la pluridisciplinarité en périnatalité intégrant ainsi le principe de complémentarité soignante dans le contexte institutionnel donné. Il s’agit ici de présenter succinctement la genèse et la co-construction d’une thérapie conjointe à caractère groupal ainsi qu’une vignette clinique illustrant ce travail sur un plan concret.
