« Une musique sur le fil », expérience clinique d’une musicothérapie en service de néonatologie

Abstract : From the silence of observation to the musicality of a session shared with the premature baby and his parents, the music pulls and patiently weaves its thread in a neonatology department. Music therapy, in this context, makes sound and music its material and its base, densifying and enriching itself by touches and successive layers. The music is plural and draws its foundations in a sonic archaism where it is a question of creating the sound of the extension of the breath, where the ostinato is transformed into a melody of the vowels, into intervals games, thus creating a sound architecture specific to the musical composition. If the sound is a stimulation adjusted and addressed to the baby and his entourage, it becomes a meeting space where sounds and words come together to structure the time, give it a coherence when everything is chaos. The song of the first name or the lullaby make the link with the family history and reinvest sense, creating also a space of the possible, a sound envelope of the symbolization, the representation. It is an incarnated music for this being in the making which is the baby born premature. Through three clinical vignettes, these different musical parameters will take shape and meaning. The musical envelope will be that of the capacity, structuring, alternation, interaction and creativity. The therapist's approach will be questioned through a music reinvented at each moment, in the temporality of the "here and now" and through the successive temporalities that constitute the process of care. From this musical composition the music therapist will attempt to create the conditions for a possible resonance.
