L’insoutenable étrangeté de la musicothérapie dans l’être institutionnel

Abstract : Clinical and institutionalized aspects of therapy are always in interactive resonance, and the unique practice of music therapy, specifically, is not always well identified. In addition, economic restraints dictate how an institution can function, and have a significant impact on the quality of healthcare, theoretical approaches, and all practices including music therapy which, in this writers’s opinion should not be dissociated from these other healthcare practices. This paper gives the testimony of a music-therapist in a private rehab-institution for adults with substance abuse, and other behavioral disorders.
