Effect of Various Heat Treatments on the Microstructure of 316L Austenitic Stainless Steel Coatings Obtained by Cold Spray

Résumé

Industries developing cold-spray processes aim at producing dense and resistant coatings for the repair of components. Controlling microstructure and inter-particular fracture characteristics of sprayed coatings is essential to improve their properties. To do so, post-spraying heat treatment is a promising approach from a metallurgical and mechanical point of view. This work addresses the effect of heat treatments on cold sprayed 316L austenitic stainless steel coatings and focuses on the analysis of recovery and recrystallization. Different heat treatment parameters were explored, namely, holding
