Résumé

We present a method for estimating the transport speed of a class of systems modeled by a 1-D hyperbolic Partial Differential Equation (PDE) where the quantity governed by the PDE is a speed deficit and the measurement fed to the estimator is the transport speed minus this deficit at a given location. Such problem arises when estimating the free flow wind speed using measurements taken inside the wake zone of a wind turbine. We present a simple and easy to implement method and provide sufficient conditions for its convergence.
